Origins Counseling and Wellness uses the principles of theory with the interpersonal system of the family as a focus. Many times as we work with individuals, working with the family is beneficial. These appointments are only as needed when supporting an individual and per the individual’s request.

Confidentiality is critical to the therapeutic relationship and therefore, crossing information is not permitted. The goal of family counseling is to find strategies to support the individual on their journey.

When To Come In For Family Counseling

Family counseling is designed to help with communication, interactions within the family and understanding connections. Our role is to help each family process these areas and the impact on the individual in counseling.

How Can Family Counseling Help?

Feelings supported helps with the counseling process at every stage of life. When a client feels supported they often find new ways to current struggles and begin to expand on their new skill set. Our goal of family counseling is to help the family unit increase communication and understanding. Our counselors can offer education and strategies for the family to build healthy, positive relationships for the future.

Our Therapy Process

Your first step is to call us to schedule your initial appointment. We work hard to pair you with a therapist that we believe will be the best fit for you and your current struggles.

Your initial evaluation session provides an opportunity for you to build rapport with the therapist and provide them with some background about yourselves and the reasons you are seeking counseling. In addition, they will be able to answer your questions regarding services, confidentiality, and what to expect in therapy. With your best interests in mind, you will decide together what kind of treatment will benefit you the most.

At the end of your first session, if you decide to move forward and work that therapist, you will be asked to schedule further appointments. At your second appointment, you will work with your therapist to set goals for your overall therapy experience and then begin working together towards achieving them.
